Rives-Blanques Blanquette de Limoux Sparkling 2014 (#35-23)
$17.50
The world's oldest sparkler is still made to this very day only in Limoux, under the strictest AOP rules. It has the lowest permitted maximum yield of any sparkling wine in Frane, and is made exclusively from hand-harvested grapes. Yield: 45 hl/ha.

$17.50
An exceptional wine especially in a region not known for its chenin blanc. Dédicace has been made with great dedication from 35 year old vines: it is a "modern style of wine", made with all the care and experience that is rooted deep in tradition.  Possibly the only chenin blanc with appellation status in the whole of the South of France, it has distinguished itself as one of the most interesting white wines of the region.  Whole, unblemished grapes harvested by hand and then individually sorted again by hand before pressing; pressed within two hours of harvesting. Fermented and matured for six months in 8% new French oak barrels. Yield: 40 hl/ha.
Grapes: 100% Chenin Blanc

Rives-Blanques Lagremas d’Aur 2006 (#35-13) Dessert Wine
$27.00

Lagremas d'Aur means 'Tears of Gold' in Occitan, the ancient language of Languedoc.  This is the sweetie from Rives-Blanques - the truly deliciously delectable "curiosity" of our range. Made from chenin blanc harvested in October 2006, and mauzac harvested in November 2006, the grapes were picked at exactly the point where their naturally concentrated sugars were perfectly balanced by natural freshness.

Because the Limoux appellation does not allow for naturally sweet wines made from these grape varieties, “Lagremas d'Aur" has to be labelled as a “Vin de France”, the lowest category in the pecking order of French wines. It was fermented and aged for three years in seasoned French oak barrels, and then aged another year in the bottle.

Grapes: Late Harvest Chein Blanc

Pairings: Delicious with cheese, fruit pies, foie gras and elaborate lobster and duck dishes ... or just on its own.

Rouge-Bleu Premiere Cuvée Lunatique 2012 (#15-28)
$42.00

The story and the name of this wine come from this tiny rocky block located inside a prehistoric river bed. This parcel is the last harvested and definitely the most qualitative even if located officially in a "Vin de Table" area.   Winemaking took place in small porous concrete tanks in order to respect “terroir” diversity and allow air exchange during the fermentation, eventually permitting life and expressions of aromas.  Lunatique comes from naturally farmed 77 year old Grenache vines.  The wine achieved great balance of acidity, tannins and alcohol.  This natural fine wine is complex and rich with hints of blackberry, anise and kirsch.
