Mas des Brun Rosé 2016 (#67-1)
$0.00

This vineyard is located in the Bandol appellation but it cannot gain AOP until the 5th leaf. The wine has been elaborated in opposition to usual standards for a rose. A natural pink color, minimum sulfur doses, indigenous yeasts naturally brought by wild flowers in the vineyard, malolactic fermentation and a very light filtration eventually make our first harvest of only 200 cases “Non-Conformist”.

In 2012, a big part of the harvest was vinified with complete grapes. The maturity and the concentration were very good, so it was just necessary to wait for the extraction. Aging in big oak vats from Burgundy and Austria. The origin and age of each barrel is chosen to store each wine. This wine is very expressive and "explosive”, with a lot of red and black fruits, a nice spice, but without hardness. In bottles since the summer of 2013, it gives a lot of seduction with much density, softness, but always with this famous Mourvedre's character!

Rives-Blanques Blanquette de Limoux Sparkling 2015 (#35-27)
$17.50
The world's oldest sparkler is still made to this very day only in Limoux, under the strictest AOP rules. It has the lowest permitted maximum yield of any sparkling wine in France, and is made exclusively from hand-harvested grapes. Whole, unblemished grapes are pressed within two hours of harvesting. Each grape variety is vinified separately and fermented at 14 °C. in stainless steel vats with a second fermentation in the bottle. Yield: 45 hl/ha.
Grapes: 90% Mauzac, 10% Chardonnay/Chenin Blanc

Region: Languedoc Vineyard:  Château Rives-Blanques
Rives-Blanques Cremant Sparkling Rosé '15 (#35-26)
$19.50
Limoux has an enviable reputation for the quality of its sparkling wines: as far back to the 16th century. The latest newcomer to the region is Crémant de Limoux, which like Champagne, is based largely on Chardonnay.  This sparkling rosé is fresh in the mouth and on the nose with hints of raspberry & strawberry.  Delicate, dry and elegant with fine bubbles.
Grapes: Chardonnay/Chenin Blanc/Pinot Noir

Region: Languedoc Vineyard:  Château Rives-Blanques
Rives-Blanques Dédicace Blanc 2014 (#35-20)
$17.50
An exceptional wine especially in a region not known for its chenin blanc. Dédicace has been made with great dedication from 35 year old vines. It is a "modern style of wine" made with all the care and experience that is rooted deep in tradition.  Possibly the only chenin blanc with appellation status in the whole of the South of France, it has distinguished itself as one of the most interesting white wines of the region.  Whole, unblemished grapes harvested by hand and then individually sorted again by hand before pressing; pressed within two hours of harvesting. Fermented and matured for six months in 8% new French oak barrels. Yield: 40 hl/ha.
Grapes: 100% Chenin Blanc

Rives-Blanques Lagremas d’Aur 2006 (#35-13) Dessert Wine
$27.00

Lagremas d'Aur means 'Tears of Gold' in Occitan, the ancient language of Languedoc.  This is s sweetie from Rives-Blanques, a truly delicious, delectable "curiosity" of their range. Made from chenin blanc harvested in October 2006 and mauzac harvested in November 2006, the grapes were picked at exactly the point where their naturally concentrated sugars were perfectly balanced by natural freshness.

Because the Limoux appellation does not allow for naturally sweet wines made from these grape varieties, “Lagremas d'Aur" has to be labelled as a “Vin de France”, the lowest category in the pecking order of French wines. It was fermented and aged for three years in seasoned French oak barrels, and then aged another year in the bottle.

Rouge-Bleu Premiere Cuvée Lunatique 2014 (#15-35)
$42.00

The story and the name of this wine come from this tiny rocky block located inside a prehistoric river bed. This parcel is the last harvested and definitely the most qualitative even if located officially in a "Vin de Table" area.   Winemaking took place in small porous concrete tanks in order to respect “terroir” diversity and allow air exchange during the fermentation, eventually permitting life and expressions of aromas.  Lunatique comes from naturally farmed 77 year old Grenache vines.  The wine achieved great balance of acidity, tannins and alcohol.  This natural fine wine is complex and rich with hints of blackberry, anise and kirsch.

Only very slightly aged, just drying a little bit on the end but with great intensity on the mid palate.
