Banneret Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge 2010 (#2-14) $42.00

The spicy nose that is characteristic of Banneret is certainly present.  A nose of figs, spices and maybe mesquite (?) gives way to a mouthful of raspberry, red currant and fruitcake.  A long, rich finish teases with tobacco and chestnut notes.  This wine will still be excellent fifteen years from now.

This wine has a limpid pale yellow color. Bubbles are fine-textured and the mousse is long lasting. The Charles Baur Crémant d’Alsace offers a bouquet of white peaches, white flowers, melon and grapefruit notes. The mouthfeel is fresh, delicate, well balanced and expresses pears and white peach flavors.

An excellent harmony of Merlot and Cabernet, full of red fruits and minerality. This wine is an excellent example of the Graves region and slightly fresher than the 2005 vintage. Barrel-aged in old oak, there are smoky notes in the wine along with a hint of vanilla. It will match well with red meats and as a post-dinner toasting wine.

The Petit Chablis has a pale yellow color with a fine and delicate nose. The flavors are full of white fruits and key lime with subtle nuances of flowers. It is made from a variety of Chardonnay grape known as "Beaunois".  This wine has won bronze medals at exhibits in Paris and Macon.

Chateau la Canorgue Blanc is nicely balanced and a well-structured wine. Flavors of white peaches, minerality, pineapple and other citrus fruits. Nicely balanced, it is a complex and well-structured wine.  Produced organically, no chemical products are used and natural insecticides employed.

Canorgue AOC Côtes du Luberon Rouge 2012 (7-37) $16.00

A deep red hue with aromas of dark red berries, leather, black pepper and just a hint of anise will be found in the nose.  Rosemary, thyme and savory grow in the vineyard and you will pick up those aromas also.  Very mild and delicate tannins. The wine matures for 4 to 6 months in oak casks.

Canorgue AOC Rosé 2012 (#7-39) $15.70

This wine is a very pale salmon color.  It tastes of strawberries and raspberries without the accompanying sweetness of the fruit.  The finish reminds one of mandarin orange.  This is a rosé full of finesse, freshness and balance.

This medium-bodied red carries notes of black fruits, cooked cherries and spices on the nose.  It has depth, body and flavor with silky tannins offering a lengthy finish.   'Coin Perdu' is a good example of what can be done at Chateau la Canorgue.  This is the wine that was featured in the book by Peter Mayle and the film starring Russell Crowe.

Showing a pale salmon color, it will be at its best for the next 18 to 24 months along with grilled meats, as a very original aperitif or perfect alongside Asian or Latin American cuisine. The nose offers unusual garrigue scents of citrus, thyme and hawthorn blossom mixed with dense fruit, followed by a rich and lengthy finish.  100% natural with very low sulfites.

Chateau Margui Rouge 2010 (20-16) $24.50

Another award winner from Philippe Guillanton.  Beautiful ruby robe with purple hues;  nose is subtle and intense with a complex bouquet of black cherries and red-fruit jam.  Finish is long and healthy, with a blend of red fruit and spices. Barrel ageing adds a vanilla and grilled-coffee flavour and will result in a lengthy cellar life of up to 10 years.

A delightfully different expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape.  As compared with the minerality of the Sancerre and Menetou-Salon wines, the Pouilly-Fumé offers a pronounced declaration of fruit and flowers on the nose and, in the mouth, notes of ruby red grapefruit, lemon, papaya and kiwi.  There is a dry touch of slate on the lengthy finish.

A great terroir in Burgundy, a great grape (Chardonnay) and a great vintage from a great but little-known winery.  Grapes are  grown in about 5 acres.  Pale yellow in color with green reflections, the nose presents floral aromas with mineral hints developing into the taste of ripe pears in the mouth.  An extremely long finish with hints of black pepper.  This wine is a consistent Gold Medal winner in competitive tastings in Burgundy.

Etienne Boileau Chablis Grand Cru 'Bougros' 2010 (#8-20) $60.00

This plot of Chablis Grand Cru Bougros was planted in 1979 for a surface of 0.50 ha. The grape variety Chardonnay grafted on 41B produces lots of small grapes which mature well. These grapes keep good acidity which allows the wine to be well balanced with a good aging potential (the best is between 6 and 10 years).

Vinification is mostly in stainless steel tanks, sometimes in oak barrels with a maturing on the lees and bottling in September of the following year.  At the moment 12 hectoliters are bottling each year, which represent around 1600 bottles.

Faverot AOC Cotes du Luberon 'Cuvee du General' 2010 (#9-26) $23.50

Cuvée du Général is the premier wine of Domaine Faverot. This full-bodied red wine has a deep crimson color and has a very complex spicy nose, exhibiting hints of game and black truffles.  It greets the palate with rich, powerful notes of ripe cherries and blackberries mixed with ripe tannins.  The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is aged for about one year in a mixture of oak barrels and old oak foudres. The finish on this wine is long and full.  The wine is capable of cellaring for up to ten years.

Faverot AOC Cotes du Luberon Rosé 2012 (#9-25) $14.50

The Faverot rosé is a blend of traditional Luberon varieties, i.e., Syrah, Mourvèdre & Grenache. Deep rose in color, the nose is fruity with notes of wild herbs. On the palate the wine is round, medium to full-bodied with red fruit characters and a long dry finish.

The Mazet is a traditional red made from classic local grapes -- Carignan, Syrah and Grenache. It has a deep red color with an intense minerally nose with red fruit notes. On the palate it is round, medium to full-bodied with red fruit flavors of blackcurrant and raspberries. The finish is long with hints of spice.

Pairings:  an excellent partner with everything from chicken to hamburgers and BBQ.

A very original white wine, it is made from traditional Provençal grape types,  i.e., Grenache Gris, Roussanne and Rolle (Vermentino).  It is dry but round and fruity on the palate with notes of pear, stone fruits and wild white flowers such as honeysuckle.

This wine is made from old Grenache and Syrah vines grown on the foothills of Mont Ventoux. This full-bodied wine has aromas of a French garden - spices, flowers and dark berries. The flavors are comparable to the aromas with silky tannins and a long finish.

From Limestone-Clay soil, this Sancerre Rosé is a blend of pressed and bled juice. The grapes pressed at harvest produce the pressed juice and the bled juice is the product of skin maceration. The must is then settled and low temperature fermentation begins. Light filtration and stainless steel tank aging.

Pairing: This delicious wine can accompany all meals. It can be drunk with highly seasoned and grilled meats, cold cuts and sausages. It goes especially well with Asian food.

Franck Millet Sancerre Blanc 2011 'Insolite' (23-13) $32.00
The Insolite is the reserve cuvée, made from Millet's chalkiest limestone soils. There is a long maceration at very low temperatures to extract as much flavor and terroir as possible. The resulting wine is charged with mineral and stony flavors, is very intense and full of bright citrus notes and, because of the amazingly warm and ripe vintage, it is quite soft, with layers of rich fruit. This 2010 Chateauneuf-du-Pape “Montplaisir” is a rich and full wine with great upside as well as aging ability.  It is a blend of grapes from the famed sector known as La Crau.  It boasts a dense ruby/purple/plum color along with chewy kirsch, garrigue, pepper and lavender characteristics, medium to full body, excellent power and concentration and light to moderate tannins that should resolve in 1-3 years. This wine will drink nicely for 10-12 years.

Careful blending of the best barrels by the celebrated Georges Pauli gave Rives-Blanques the first hint of the magic they had spent years trying to conjure: a wine that is elegant, complex, intellectually challenging and sophisticated, yet startlingly simple in its clarity.  Every year presents a new challenge, and it is not at all certain that every vintage will allow Rives-Blanques to make the exceptional wine they strive for. Nor do they strive to make the same wine every year: the aim is to get the best out of each vintage.  Yield between 35-45 hl/ha. Each grape variety vinified separately. Grapes picked and twice-sorted by hand, pressed within two hours of harvesting. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels for six months, with batonnage twice weekly.

Named after the strong winds that blow through the Rhône valley, the Domaine Rouge-Bleu ‘Mistral’ grapes come from the oldest vines on the domaine, many of them over 75 years of age.  With a deep purple color, there are aromas of red fruits and spices on the nose and the high concentration of fruit, typical of older vines, is complemented by a lengthy finish and lasting flavor.  A gold medal winner at the 2008 Paris Agricultural show, it was recently given 91 points by Wine Spectator magazine.

While vacationing in Sicily in August of 2010, Jean-Marc Espinasse developed a deep “Crush on Etna” for the beauty of the land and the wines.  Grapes from old vines have been hand harvested, partly de-stemmed and vinified with their natural yeast and low sulfur in open barrels.  This wine has high acidity and will pair well with light meats, cheeses and chocolate desserts.

A hearty red that will be the perfect winter warmer. The nose is powerful and complex : The mouth is spicy, velvety and explosive.

We elaborate this special cuvée only when the time is right to harvest our oldest  Syrah grapes, slightly overmatured. The production is limited and reservations are posted long in advance. The terroir is mica-schist, vinification lasts 3 to 4 weeks with punching the cap. Then La Gourmande cuvée is aged during 12 months in french oak barrels. The robe is dense with hints of violette. The nose develops aromas of red and black fruit, cherry, chocolate and leather. The maturity of tannins, the musky touch of clove, mint and violet reveal an incredible wine.  The finish is long and complex.
