 Château Bichon Cassignols

Twenty kilometres south-east of Bordeaux, near the village of La Bréde and in the appellation of Graves, lies the vineyard of Château Bichon Cassignols.  The first wines from this vineyard appeared in 1919 at the hands of the current owner’s grandparents.

Bichon Cassignols 'Grand Reserve' Rouge 2015 (#32-26)
An excellent harmony of Merlot and Cabernet, full of red fruits and minerality. This wine is an excellent example of the Graves region. Barrel-aged in old oak, there are smoky notes in the wine along with a hint of vanilla. It will match well with red meats and as a post-dinner toasting wine.
Grapes: 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Bordeaux Vineyard:  Château Bichon Cassignols
Bichon Cassignols Blanc 2016(#32-25)

A round and silky wine with great fruit and lively acidity.  Sauvignon Blanc brings freshness and vivacity and sémillon gives plumpness.  Aged 9 months in barrels to add subtlety and longevity.

Grapes:  60% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc

Region: Bordeaux Vineyard:  Château Bichon Cassignols

The nose on this wine if full of blackberry and plum.  In the mouth there are additional notes of red fruits coupled with a very long finish.
