 Chateau La Canorgue
Chateau La Canorgue is in the heart of the Luberon National Park. It is built on the former site of an ancient Roman villa near the village of Bonnieux, between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Subterranean canals built by the Romans still bring water to La Canorgue. In fact, near an old chapel on the property are fountains surrounded by Neptune and his dolphins, creating an atmosphere of harmony and beauty, accurately reflecting the impression the property makes on you. This is a small (30 hectares/72 acres) winery, run by the same family for over 200 years and was a pioneer in the organic production of grapes. Natural quality is the goal of vineyard culture at this chateau. No chemical fertilizers are used -- only manure and natural preparations. No weed killers are used -- just a weekly removal either mechanically or manually. The vines are plowed during the fall and spring in order to lighten the soil and only plant essences (mint, pine needles, nettle) take the place of chemical pesticides. Cold-regulated stainless steel tanks are used for fermentation after the grapes have been smoothly pressed pneumatically. Then, some of the wines are put into oak casks or barrels to age in the 17th century cellar. After aging, all the wines are bottled on the estate. The low yield (30 hl/ha) and the small area of the vineyard ensures maximum aroma and top quality wine.
Canorgue AOC Blanc 2016 (#7-56)

Chateau La Canorgue Blanc is nicely balanced, complex and a well-structured wine. Flavors of white peaches, minerality, pineapple and other citrus fruits.  Produced organically, no chemical products are used and only natural insecticides employed.
